This all time great series of Asterix graphic novels (comic books) has been authored by Rene Goscinny and illustrated by Albert Uderzo. The series first appeared in the French Magazine 'Pilote' on 29th Oct., 1959. The volumes continued thereafter with the cooperation of the two - Rene Goscinny and Albert Uderzo, till the death of Goscinny in 1977. Thereafter Uderzo took over the continuance of the series. Here is the new and complete collection of 34 Asterix albums . These Asterix albums are about the fun-filled adventures taking place in the time of Gaul and the rule of Caesar, starring Asterix and his best friend Obelix. Most of the adventures take place in the village of Gaul or around it, but the characters also travel to far away lands like Belgium, Spain, Britain, Germany, North America, Middle East and India etc. One interesting fact to note is that Uderzo's initial sketches portrayed Asterix as huge, Gaulish warrior, but Goscinny had other ideas about Asterix. He was eventually portrayed as the shrewd small sized warrior, who had intelligence as a weapon over the muscle strength. Asterix is joined by his friend Obelix, who is strong, but not as sharp as Asterix.
