now this thing comes DCC Decoder Ready but this has actually had the decoder installed then and it also works perfectly (minus the extra features and lighting) on a regular DC Track, so this baby has the best of both worlds! Runs and lights perfectly in DCC mode but again on a regular DC track it runs great but does not light and even progressively starts slow and then after a few seconds goes full speed (on both DCC & DC), I actually had this professionally tested and re programmed to channel 3 and is ready for all kinds of different operational features, lastly this particular engine is a stock decoder ready engine but then this actually has a decoder installed then and I am listing close to fifty engines total that have after market decoders installed at link below!. Case does show a bit of shelf wear.One last thing, even though it is not in the pics, underneath the retainer in the case there is a spare set of rapido couplers with the different mounts, just in case you need rapido.
