Message with any questions.Local pick-up available.1926 Mr. Rhoads purchased a building, previously referred to as the Washington House and opened Hotel Rhoads. As soon as Mr. Rhoads took ownership of the building, he provided a room to the Quarryville Legion boys to hold their meetings. He also allowed the Lions Club to bring the State Police to town by establishing a “permanent substation” inside the hotel and installed a telephone for their use.1932 A fire occurred at the “Rhoads Hotel” that badly damaged the building and the only item that could be salvaged from the wreckage was a marble soda fountain. The total loss of the building was estimated at $17,000. Mr. Rhoads never questioned rebuilding and less than 2 months the remnants of the old “Rhoads Hotel” were torn down.
