Robbiati’s patented coffee machine is a classic design of Streamline Modern Design in the 'Atomic Age'(1945–1960). The Atomic Coffee Machine has become a collector’s item with iconic status. This machine was made in either Italy, Vienna or more likely in Argentina sometime in the 1950s and is badged “HOGAR EXPRES Cabiro Industria Argentina”. See http://www./displayimage.php?album=1&pos=150 It is very similar to the 1948 Robbiati Atomic stovetop machine (same main dimensions, head and sized parts) but has the improvement of a heavier solid base and long bakelite handle to avoid a problem with the early Robbiati machines that required a glove to be worn when touching the machine when hot). The coffee head is also very similar to the Stella Wien flat top machines made in Austria also from the Robbiati patent in the (it is pictured for illustration purposes in the last picture next to the 1955 Stella Wien machine and a later 1970s Robbiati Atomic machine, to show dimensions).
