Twined basket of northeast California tribal group ( Achumawi or Atsugewi ). Globular form. Height is 7 inches. Diameter at widest point is 8.25 inches and at base is 7 inches. There are two damage points - tears measuring 0.75 inches from rim along basketry wall. Much diagonal twining on base. Materials: base weft (Pine root); design on sides is Beargrass overlay with dyed fern root for positive design element.
