Atractive Small Slate and Marble Mantle clock I have for sale this Small slate mantle clock which is ideal for people who do not posess a huge mantle piece. It measures 9 inches high by 9.5 inches wide and just under 6 inches in depth. It is an unusual, very attractive design and I have not seen another like it. The case is slate with green marble inlay. It dates from around 1930 and is in the Victorian style. It has a very pretty dial which measured 4.5 inches in diameter. The movement is by A D Mougin and retailed by A & N of Paris, and was stripped and polished by the previous owner. The clock chimes on the hour and half hour and keeps good time. It comes with a replacement key I like to buy clocks, enjoy them for a while and then sell them on again. I have owned it for at least 6 months and have enjoyed every minute (excuse the pun!) It has kept good time and been a pleasure. The face has a small hairline crack near the 4 & 5 (see photo) but other wise is very nice. The slate case is in very good condition and the clock has been looked after well in its life time so far. It does have some discoulouration to it, mainly to the sides. When it is on the mantle piece it does not notice too much. I mention all this for accuracy and you should not be put off this very nice clock.
