It has various applied ‘sprigs’ consisting of Topers, Trees and a clockwise fox-hunt. If you look carefully at the sprigs you can see little pin holes which signify where a pin was pushed in them to remove them from their fired-clay or brass molds. The top of the jug is dipped in a beautiful amber 'dip'. The jug is 5 7/8 inches tall. It has a beautiful extruded strap handle which ends in a leafy terminal. The base of the handle is artfully attached to the body with a small strap held in place with ‘screws'. This deliberately echoes a metal example. Condition is superb - no chips, cracks or restoration and a great little addition to any collection of English saltglaze or your dealers inventory.
