Up for bid is an AK homebrewed working crystal radio.AK components were sold for builders early in it's history and this is a representation of an early crystal breadboard.It is constructed with a type 11 tuner which shows evidence of previous panel mounting beneath the front dial plate that truly does not detract from the radios appearrance as you can see.. Also the tuner has 2 center binding post in the rear to which a variable capcitor may be connected to facillitate very fine tuning if one desires.This really works great when connected. It is built on a 3 section mahongony board like all AK open sets were and this board has the same dimensions of the Type 5.The detector unit has a modern diode attached to the binding post (see phtoo). This diode can by simply removed at anytime if one wants to use the crystals and catwhiskers both of which work fine too.Payment in 3 days after close of sale please.That's about it. I think it is a handsome set.
