Audie Murphy-The most decorated US soldier of WWII. This auction is for a matted color photo of Audie Murphy in his uniform showing some of the medals which were awarded in WWII. Depicted with Murphy's photo are photo representations of the medals shown on his uniform. The medals and badge shown on Audie's uniform are: Medal of Honor, Distinguished Service Cross, Silver Star with one oak leaf cluster, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star with Valor device and one oak leaf cluster, Purple Heart with two oak leaf clusters, French Legion of Honor, Belgian Croix de Guerre 1940 with palm and the Combat Infantry Badge. Medals which are not shown on the uniform but won by Audie which are also depicted include: American Campaign Medal, EAME (European African Middle Eastern Campaign) Medal, WWII Victory Medal, French Croix de Guerre with Silver Star. Under Audie's photo is a reprint of his autograph. The photo is matted in a green color in an 11 x 14 mat.
