Aug 20, 1945 TIME Magazine- Black "X" Over Japan on Cover-Pacific Pony EditionFolded in half at one time - otherwise near MINTEND of Japan Issue! Pacific Pony edition- printed in HawaiiThe Pony edition of TIME magazine was printed during the second world war especially for air transport to U.S. troops abroad. To facilitate this, the magazines were printed in a miniature format (5.5" x 7.5"). Textually identical to the normal magazine issue, these Pony editions were published without advertising, which included the rear covers.
