Cast bronze nickel plated Rampant Lion Hood Ornament for a 1925-1928 Franklin Automobile. Marked on bottom " Sterling Bronze Co. New York " Inscribed on front under lion " Aura Vincit " which is Latin for "Breeze Conquers ." (The Franklins were air-cooled automobiles.) The back says "DE_PAT-73161", indicating that this was manufactured during the later part of that 1925-1928 period. Some tarnish, and the inside needs to be cleaned.
