T are few things more precious to a parent or grandparent than seeing their children happy. This adorable little girl and her puppy are enjoying a moment of pure happiness. This sculpture would be an excellent gift for a mother or grandmother. Mother's Day isn't that far away. This sculpture is called Puppy Love and is designed by Dee Crowley as part of the Bright Eyes Collection produced by Austin Sculptures. In this series of sculptures t he artist strives to portray the simplicity and innocence of childhood. What could be more innocent than a child snuggling her puppy? The little girl has one arm over the puppy's back, her eyes are closed, and is resting her head on the puppy. Aren't they precious?Dee Crowley's figures are full of detail. The little girl is wearing overalls and a blouse with a peter pan collar and her poneytails are tied with bows. The dog looks like some kind of terrier or maybe a cocker spaniel. It has a bobbed tail and floppy ears. The dog's body is a textured to give the impression of fur. The sculpture is a little over 4 1/2" high and the base is 3 1/4" long. It is made of some kind of pottery, but I don't know the composition. The condition is very good. I haven't found any chips or cracks. The only flaw, and it is minor, is the tip of the girl's nose is a little soiled, but I haven't tried to clean it.
