This 1971 Austin Sprite is one of the last 1000 built and was 'badged' as Austin Sprite (rather than Austin Healey Sprite). The chasis number shows it to be one of the last 50 built off the production line. As you can see by the photographs the car is in a very good condition - it was restored about 8 years ago by myself and has been looked after ever since. The restoration included: All new floors; New Sills; New Springs all round; Reconditioned radiator; New lights; new carpets; New hood; and anything else that needed replacing was replaced. Much engine work carried out - like a new cylinder head; new shells; new rings; new timing-chain and oil pump; new clutch (including slave cylinder and master cylinder); also master cylinder for brakes; new brake pipes througout; and more. Please note that there is a 4" paint blister on the bonnet (towards the front). The car presently has no tax or MOT on sorn. It's been in my garage for the last 3 years with minimum usage but started regularly. Recently had a new battery. Hence the reason for sale (not being used!) - too many other toys! If you'd like to contact me for any information or if you'd like to arrange a viewing then call my mobile any time on 07887 424 959 and speak to Andy. Payments to be made as follows - £100 by paypal as none returnable deposit - the remainder cash on collection. read more
