A very decorative continental sterling 830 silver spoon with an Austria-Hungary import mark used from 1867-1922 and a town mark for Vienna. I'm not sure if this is a family crest spoon of some type or a souvenir spoon. It definitely has a lot going on. The top of the handle is a figural of an armless legless woman with some type of crown. The handle narrows and then broadens again just above the bowl to show some type of Rooster and a tribesman's face both in raised relief. The bowl is engraved with another face and or crest. The word WIEN is also engraved in the bowl. The underside of the bowl is engraved 'EMW from We Two 1904'. The back of the handle is stamped 'B 1903 P.A. Lie830S' along with the import mark. The spoon is 7" long and weighs 1.8 ounces. It is in excellent condition with no damage and minimal surface wear. This 100+ year old beauty looks loke it just came out of the mold. All raised relief and engraving is crisp and clear. Rare item. starts low with no reserve.
