Andreas Hofer 50 Schilling Austrian Silver Coin This is an Austrian Silver 50 schilling coin dated 1959. The coin I am selling is in excellent condition. It still has some original luster and very little wear. The front of the coin features Andreas Hofer, the Austrian national hero who liberated Tyrol from Napolean's Army but was then later captured and killed in 1809. This coin celebrates 150th anniversary of the Liberation of Tyrol. This coin had a face value of 50 Schillings. Austria's currency is now Euros, so these old schilling coins are becoming rare - Ideal for a collector! The coin weighs .5787 oz or 20 grams and is .9000 Silver. and is approximately 1 5/16" in diameter.
