`~ Fine Austrian Bronze 'Garden Gate' Candelabra ~ Ornate Bird & Butterflies Design ~ Attributed to Franz Bergmann - Circa 1900 ~ please scroll down for more photos ~ SIZE: Height - 9.25" (23.5 cm)���/���Width - 11.25" (28.5 cm)���/���Depth - 4.75" (12 cm) DESCRIPTION:Rare and possibly unique Austrian bronze candelabra or candleholder designed as a garden gate and decorated with a naturalistic cold-painted bronze songbird, attributed to Franz Bergman, and four cold-painted bronze butterflies.Unsigned. Austria circa 1900 - 1910. Marked only with a "7" stamped into the bottom of one of the center uprights. one This piece was made to be a table ornament and double candlestick. At the front there are two chains, with rings at the ends, that originally that originally held the tops of two cut glass crystal condiment jars. Now the two jars are missing and only the tops are present, as can be seen in the last photograph. The jars would have been set into the bronze reserves, on either side of the gate.The piece is decorated with a bronze songbird, that although it appears to be unsigned, can definitely be attributed to Franz Bergman, as the detail is so fine and realistic.
