This Medal Is From The Same Sailor Who We Had Recently Listed Another Medal From West Indies Campaign Which Is on Our Listing's Now.For You We Have This Amazing Authentic Historic U.S. Navy-Marine West Indies #775 Campaign Medal Circa 1898 Of the Spanish-American War It's an Authentic, The Real McCoy Medal & Ribbon Awarded to A Special United States Sailor or Marine It is in Good Pre Owned Vintage Condition - Great Patina We Are Selling it, "As Is, As Found" We Have Not Attempted to Clean it About 3,000 numbered Navy & Marine Campaign Medals were issued This Medal is #775 West Indies Campaign Medal Established in 1908 for Navy and Marine Veterans who participated in the West Indies Naval Campaigns This Award was Authorized in 1908 for members of the Navy and Marine Corps who served aboard ships in the West Indies. It was rarely given, as most of those men were entitled to the "Sampson Medal" and two awards could not be given for the same service. For this reason it later was discontinued. The design, by Bailey, Banks and Biddle, is almost the same as that of the Navy Spanish Campaign Medal. It shows Morro Castle, which guards Havana Harbor.
