WOW! UP FOR AUCTION TODAY IS A VERY RARE PIECE OF THE HULL TAKEN FROM THE HULL OF THE U. S. S. YORKTOWN CV-10. THE YORKTOWN IS ALSO KNOWN AS "THE FIGHTING LADY". THIS IS A RARE HISTORICAL AUCTION YOU WILL NEVER AGAIN SEE A PIECE CUT FROM THE YORKTOWN SO THIS IS A VERY, VERY RARE CHANCE TO OWN A GREAT AND WONDERFUL PIECE OF HISTORY FROM THE "FIGHTING LADY" THE U.S.S. YORKTOWN AIRCRAFT CARRIER. This very unique piece of the Yorktown hull measures 3 inches by 3 inches by 1 inch in thickness and is heavy weighing 5 pounds. This is a piece of the hull that was cut out to make a handicap(wheelchair) lift. This required that they cut out a small section of the hull to accommodate a place for the lift to go. We were able to get pieces of the hull from this historical and beautiful aircraft carrier. The lift is being installed so that handicapped people would be able to attend and go on board to the flight deck of the Yorktown . In May t will be a big ceremony for the reopening of the Medal Of Honor museum on board the Yorktown . The museum has been enlarged and redone. This will be a big affair in Charleston .
