Up for auction is one (1) Gilley's Club SATIN JACKET. If you are looking at this listing then you know that Gilley's in Pasadena, Texas was featured prominently in the iconic movie " Urban Cowboy ," starring John Travolta. The jacket is in awesome condition. If it has been worn at all, then it was maybe once. It has no stains or holes that I see. I would date this jacket to the late 70's, early 80's. It is made by Active Generation. The sizetag says Medium, but keep in mind that this is a 30 +-year old jacket, and sizes have changed a little bit. From Wikipedia: Gilley's is a bar /honky tonk founded in 1971 by country singer Mickey Gilley in Pasadena, Texas .[ 1] It was the central location in the 1980 movie Urban Cowboy .[ 2] Charlie Daniels on stage at Gilley's, 1979 The tin building housed multiple bars and mechanical bulls . Connected to Gilley's club was a small rodeo arena that would also host both bicycle and motorcycle motocross races on Friday and Saturday nights. During Gilley's heyday in the late 1970s and early 1980s, Cryer operated several bars and businesses throughout Pasadena. Gilley's closed after a falling out between Gilley and Cryer.
