I purchased this great light at a "downsizing" sale. The gent told me it came from an old theater in New York, that was being torn down. He had every intention of wiring it up & using it in his workshop, but never got to it. It is a wonderful piece. It has brilliant ruby red glass and is triangular in shape, with smooth rounded corners. He said it was from the 1930's which appears to be right on, as you can see & appreciate the seams in the glass from the mold. The glass measures 7 1/4" x about 6 1/2". The metal collar measures 5 1/4" around the top. The original screws are in place but pretty much stuck, I did not try to open it, nor did I clean it, I will let the high bidder take care of that, so...the original dust is in place. It has a black & a white wire & what appears to be a porcelain socket? The name KOPP appears in the red glass on the top. I Googled the name and found Kopp Glass Company, was located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. According to their website history, it began in 1926 and " The company expanded into the industrial and technical glass market in its early years through the development of "selenium red" glass.
