Autumn - Tubeline Majolica Art Nouveau style framed tile By Maw & Co, Stoke-on-Trent Tubeline Majolica painting of tiles was at its height in the second half of the 19th century and Maw's, who specialised in this form of decoration, were the leaders in the field. The technique was re-introduced by Maw's in 1974. This is one of a set of four 'seasons' tiles - I have the full set for sale individually, see my other listings. Size: approx 9.5" square 800g unpacked weight In original frame with Maw's descriptive label to the back. Good condition apart from a chip to front of frame (see picture towards bottom right of inner edge of frame) and minor wear to gilding on frame.
