I am listing tonight, for your consideration, a pair of original watercolors by AVA FERNEKES. Some of Ava's earlier works was signed AVA AVERY. She was a very well know Mid-Century watercolorist of her time. She was born in 1912 and passed in 1994. Her work has a very simple Folk Art feel. She was married to another well know artist, Max Fernekes. Both were considered the founders of the artist colony that still exists to this day in Mineral Point, Wisconsin. Again, up for auction are two wonderful watercolors by Ava Fernekes. Both are signed originals. Ava named these two originals, INGRID OF NORWAY and OLAF OF NORWAY. Good luck bidding! A pair of wonderful watercolors! The colors, as you can see by my photos, are very bright and vibrant. The frames measure 12" X 16" and were framed by a company in Rockford, IL. On the back of each frame reads: FRAMED by: LINDQUIST HOLAINE; Paint Store; 516 Seventh St.; Rockford, IL; Phone WO 3 - 8652.
