Unpunched/New/BoxedThis is a great game. Rated 6.6 on boardgamegeek. Best kept WW1 game secret. This is a faster pace game than others. Germans push French on the offensive down to Verdun. The French play defense and try to hold them off by falling back into trenches back to Verdun. Actual trenches are shown on map and not by counters! One of my favorite games on WW1. The key to taking out the French is to combo heavy off map artillery fire as a precursor to the action phase, then combination fire with on map mortars and infantry. You can do damage with heavy guns, then try to crush them during action phase. French as a great defense though in the trenches with line shifts on odds table along with defending wood hexes. Germans out number French but French can defend before end of game to hold them off as long as they use all of their tactics wisely.Ship to lower 48 states only
