Original Map done in 1845 titled " "F" SKETCH OF THE PUBLIC SURVEYS IN MICHIGAN". The map is 23" x 22 1/2" with no writing on the back. The image is sharp and clear with easy to read labeling. This map accompanied a U.S. Report to Congress - that was limited in both production and distribution. These went only to members of Congress and select Government Agencies. The map is in VERY GOOD CONDITION. The color is bright. It is made of a special parchment like paper that is tough and durable. This special paper was only used during the 1800's and the mid 1800's for maps. T is an explanation on the left hand side that includes (A) Townships subdivided, (B) Field Notes transcribed, (C) Field Notes Recorded, (D) Field Notes Transcribed and Recorded, (E) Township Plats Recorded, (F) All the Above Completed, (G) Proposed New Surveys, (H) Defective Surveys. Superb Map. Very old and rare. Awesome map for your collection or great coversation piece to frame - Non-acid conservation tape has been added to the back to preserve and protect the map.
