This wonderful ART DECO Kellogg *ASHTRAY* Desk Telephone is fully reconditioned and guaranteed to work. This is one of the most sought after black ART DECO phones ever made! It is really not an ashtray, but was named that by collectors because of the indentations on both sides for the handset (see pictures). IF YOU WANT A BEAUTIFUL ART DECO DESK PHONE, THIS IS IT! It was totally taken apart, cleaned, polished, reassembled, and thoroughly tested. The phone was made in the 1930s. This is one of the most desirable ART DECO telephones because of it's exceptional appearance. Kellogg manufactured telephones beginning in the late 1890s. These are highly collectable.The phone is made of bakelite that has been cleaned, buffed, and polished to a very beautiful finish. PLEASE EXCUSE the pictures, the shiny chrome finger wheel on the dial is reflecting everything in the room. The dial was made for Kellogg by Automatic Electric Company, the pioneer in the development of the dial for telephones. It has the original rubber feet on the bottom that are in excellent condition.
