Hi Friends, Presented in this auction is a Awesome Cool Fractured Impact Crater Quartz 92.3 Grams. This stone is from the theorized Weaubleau Osceola Meteorite Impact Crater Structure [310 to 340 million years since impact] in Missouri. This stone eroded from the ground in its fractured condition, I did not break any of these. This stone is a solid crystal form with crystal pocket on the fracture side and healed lightning crack running through rounded side. I think some of these crater quartz may be electrically fractured from the meteor or through lightning strike as the stones were close to the Earths' surface. Quartz is a semi-conductor in water. The quartz from the crater had a turbulent past but has grown past that. Some types of micro crystal quartz grown from recrystallization of glassy stone in low pressure scientists say could take millions of years. I don't know exactly how this stone formed but it was found eroding out of the siltstone in the crater like Missouri Round Rocks; which some experts associate with meteorite impact. My guess is these quartz formations were influenced by what caused the crater. Maybe these were glassy stones buried and metamorphic for millions of years becoming quartz. Perhaps they were impactites melted fractured and re-healed. It was found in a field which contained many impacted melted fractured
