We have an awesome large VERY RARE Moorcroft "Puffins" 6" ginger jar depicting fabulous scenery of a coastal rocky shore with the beach and the sea, together with 12 puffins perched on the rocks at the forefront, with another Puffin on the lid, which is presented on the ever popular 769/6 shape and is on offer in perfect condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or restoration, and really does display magnificently. This ginger jar also comes complete with the original Moorcroft blue and gold presentation box. This jar is of 1st quality and is not silver lined and has never had one guaranteed. The Puffins pattern was created by Moorcrofts designer Carole Lovatt for the 1998 catalogue range and was retired from production at the end of 2001. What has now become evident, is that its a highly sought after design. The backstamp on the base has a clearly impressed MOORCROFT MADE IN ENGLAND and painted marks with the WM monogram and C97 , and the tubeliners/paintresses signature, together with the year cypher key mark dating its year of production to 2000.
