This is absolutely wonderful! Old Papago Gaming basket try and gaming sticks... Native americans were big into gaming and gambling. This is a very nice complete set. Tray and gaming sticks. The gaming pieces were dropped onto the tray. Then tallied up thus. One player was red and one player was green. All the striped sided were counted by color and credited to the appropriate player. If a stick landed on its side, it was not counted... Several turns were passed and at the end, the player with the most points won. Easy! This is a piece that came out of a recent show in Creed, Co. From an older collection out of New Mexico. Basket is 15 1/2" across. There are a total of 16 gaming sticks carved from wood. Each is aprox. 5 1/2" long. Very nice patina on the basket and sticks. An fantastic addition to your collection at a GREAT PRICE! A note about me. I have been a collector of “Curiosities” for most of my 50 years.
