In the late 1950s, I got this ax blade from an old Sioux Indian man who lived down the bottom of the mountain where the Fetterman Massacre took place on Dec. 21, 1866. The old Indian had dug up several ax blades from the site. The ax blades would have been on the wagon train that was out for wood cutting on the day Red Cloud cunningly lured the troops into ambush. I have had this ax blade on display in my Cowboy Museum since the 1950s. I am selling much of my stuff now as I am almost 90 years young. This is a real treasure for the Indian Wars collector. I had this ax on display in my Old West Museum in Sunset, Texas from 1950s till I moved it to Wimberely, Texas in 2006. My name is Jack Glover if you have any questions. Thanks for looking and good luck.
