Orchardart are pleased to be able to offer a stunning collection of watercolour paintings by the listed artist Thomas Collier. Recently acquired from a private collection which had been in the recent owners collection for over 50 years. Aysgarth falls by THOMAS COLLIER 1840 - 1891 Watercolour 14x10 inches and is unframed Excellent condition Signed and dates circa 1873 After attending the Manchester School of Art, he made his home between 1864 and 1869 at Bettws-y-Coed in North Wales, a spot particularly favoured by David Cox, whose late Welsh landscapes influenced Collier’s approach to watercolour. In the early 1870s, following periods in Birmingham and Manchester, Collier moved to London, where in 1879 he built a home and studio in Hampstead. He was elected an associate of the Institute of Painters in Water-Colours in 1870 and a full member in 1872. He travelled widely across Europe and England recording the landscape
