Marvelous color poster advertises the baseball tour of a lifetime; the 1934 Tour of Japan. This important event popularized baseball in Japan to bring it to the major league level it is today. Poster was put up at newsstands to advertise the coverage in Sport News. Babe Ruth is shown batting for the United States team at Meiji Jingu Stadium in Tokyo, Japan wearing his legendary "U.S." uniform. Classic image of Ruth is the same used on the often seen famous postcard of the Tour. Trumpets in Japanese that all of Japan is watching and waiting for Japan to play the "unbeatable" U.S. team at Jingu Baseball Stadium. The writer even hopes that the U.S. players get many hits and win! Sounds like an American wrote this yet it is in Japan! Poster itself is 15x12" and beautifully framed to 23x17". Appearance is excellent.
