"T he A ll A me ri ca n T ea m" 1934 All American Team signed baseball "Tour of Japan" In 1934 Babe Ruth participated in the only overseas barnstorming tour of his storied career, traveling to Japan and other various Far East ports with Connie Mack's All-American Team. Although the tour included many of the top stars of the game (including Gehrig, Foxx and Gehringer), it was the presence of Ruth which marked that trip as the most celebrated of the era. This spectacular signed baseball originates from that most famous sojourn and is one of the finest 1934 tour balls that we have ever offered and one of the best for sure that you will ever see auctioned. The ball features the rarest of baseball tour manufacturer labels " National Match Ball, " " SHIMADA JAPAN " baseball . All is printed on the baseball. The Sweet spot of the baseball allowed the premier player on the trip to sign the ball. Babe Ruth ( 10/10 ) has beautifully signed with his bold signature on the sweet spot while Lou Gehrig ( 10/10 ) signs the ball just next to Ruth along the other panel in bold blue ink. The ball has also been boldly signed by nineteen other members of the All American Tour including manager Connie Mack (10/10), Jimmie Fo xx (10/10), Frank Lefty O' Doul (10/10), Lefty Gomez (10/10), Charlie Cehringer (10/10), Earl Averill (10/10), Eric McNair read more
