Baby's Record Laverne Boyd Roberts Born Dallas Texas, June 25, 1914 Illustrated by Clara M. Burd Presented with Best Wishes by the "Oldest Savings Bank in Dallas," the Dallas Trust and Savings Bank, 1101 to 1103 Main Street, Dallas, Texas. This 16-page book features illustrations on each page by Clara M. Burd with all illustrations signed CM Burd. along with spots for recording the pertinent information about a baby's development (although not in the order one would expect). It lists such things as birth, first tooth, brother and sisters (apparently, Laverne didn't have any at the time), weight, Christening, etc. An interesting look at the early 20th century and nice illustrations by a well-known children’s illustrator. Burd is one of the few illustrators who went to Paris to study art. She often has a mix of muted, neutrals contrasted with brighter tones. Dallas Trust & Savings Bank, 1914, 16 pages, 6 1/4" x 8", paperback with stiff paper covers and stapled binding, illustrated. Condition Fair to Poor, edge wear, pages are browned, worn, spotted, staples, rusted, spine has been taped as has lower ear corner, back cover creased vertically. Buyer pays shipping/handling.
