This is a 1955 Baccarat paperweight of Lafayette (a U. S. Revolutionary War hero from France). The paperweight is 3 1/8 inches in diameter and 2 inches in height. It has a clear base and light blue over white overlay with a flat facet on top and 5 facets around the sides. The base has diamond cutting. It is in excellent condition—no chips, cracks or scratches that I can see. The cameo has B. G.P. 1955 on its base. The B. is for Baccarat and the G. P. is for Gilbert Poillerat, the sculptor who created the cameo. Only 159 of this color combination were made. . I have several other paperweights listed on eBay.
