We have for your consideration a Bacon & Day 1924 Peerless Tenor Banjo with a hardshell case that we believe is original. Inside, the banjo is marked 'Bacon Banjo Co. Banjos of Quality Groton, Connecticut Pat Pend.' It also is marked '13506 The Bacon Peerless Made by The Bacon Banjo Co. Inc Groton, Connecticut USA.' The same serial number appears in two spots inside. According to an online authoritative banjo serial number database, the following information was obtained: Made in 1924 Type TB Mark E. Carosiello (reference/reporter).The banjo has 17 frets, 10 Mother-Of-Pearl dots in 7 frets, 24 brackets and a Grover Patent Presto Tailpiece. The skin diameter is 11" and the back is closed. The headplate has 'Bacon' inlaid or in decal. This Bacon Peerless Banjo with case is pre-owned. The case is scratched and stained inside and, overall, is in rough condition but is still functional. The banjo shows wear on the finish on the frets, and it needs new strings. Two sets of new strings are included. There are chips on the fretboard on the fret closest to the head (pictured). The banjo could use a good cleaning and polishing. It appears all the parts of the banjo are present but we don't play this instrument, so please inspect pictures to make sure.C ustomer PromiseYour satisfaction is always guaranteed.
