WOW!! WHEN IS THE LAST TIME YOU SAW ONE OF THESE??? I have up for auction a vintage hat badge, pin or emblem (whatever you call it) from Consolidated Freightways who went bankrupt in 2002. My husband had worked for this company for 29 years and was in management. No one knew they were going bankrupt. He went in on Labor Day 2002 to be told, in a conferenence call to everyone in the United States at CF terminals, that they HAD gone bankrupt the day before and to lock all the doors. He was devasted as we all were. He lost his pension, health benefits for both of us, vacation pay and is receiving a portion of what his pension should have been. He also settled for pennies on the dollar for the vacation pay and received no health benefits through COBRA- we were on our own to purchase our health benefits from private companies as all CF employees were! What a shock after 29 years and thinking your job was secure!! Yeah, right!!! Now that you know our life history, I am offering this fabulous old badge to one of you collectors out there. I have another one (different) that I am also listing today. This badge is in great vintage condition and measures approximately 2 3/8" x 2 1/2". Hopefully, we'll get alot of money!!!
