Up for auction today is very hard to find BAILEY TOOL CO. DEFIANCE plane. The plane is 100% complete and original. This was made between 1872 -1879 by Bailey, in Woonsocket, R.I. The plane is 8 3/4" long and 2 1/4" wide. It features the great embossed lever cap, with no. 10 stamped inside, and both ears intact, the brass adjusting knob, with patent date of Aug 1875, the iron and cap iron stamped with Bailey's original stamps. T are no cracks, no breaks, or repairs to this plane. The rear tote shows wear at the rear tip. The front knob is beaded and in nice condition. The throat shows miminal wear. Jappaning is 85% intact. This plane does need to be cleaned. Do not let this rare plane get away from you.
