I have been making ceramic pieces for nearly 25 years. I am 31 years old. I am a 2 nd generation ceramicist. I began my own business in 2003. At this time I have amassed 224 designs. My business operates in Northern Michigan in a town called Suttons Bay. I make all the tiles in a shop that is located next to Lake Michigan. I can walk outside the door of my workshop and throw a rock in Lake Michigan. Yes, this is a small town in Northern Michigan, but Suttons Bay is supported by the larger town of Traverse City. Traverse City is the gateway to North Michigan. My business is only growing and I am not limited by my location. If I had lived in Chicago I would have never made these tiles because I would not know what was important to commemorate in a tile. Ask yourself why do you want to buy these tiles? These tiles will last forever. In Europe, they have found a way of thinking that makes artwork special, especially, commemorative pieces that represent a series or a collection that can grow in your home. These tiles are made of clay or they are considered ceramic, either way, you could bury my tile in the ground and dig it up in 1000 years and it would look the same. If Earth were to explode from a massive asteroid my tile would go flying through space unharmed. It could travel the universe and find its way to another culture in a far off galaxy. If you do not believe in aliens then you must believe in interior decorating. These tiles can be installed in a tile backsplash or used in the tiles that create your outdoor pool. You can use Sporck Tileart tiles to make your house look like it was created for Royalty, or you can stick one on your wall do tell your friends that, “I know something that you do not”. These tiles are little treasure and if you ask me, I would not invest in a piece of paper and a wood frame; I would invest in an object that is moveable and that can get wet. If you do not have a place to put a tile you do not belong at an art fair and I think you need to start buying your artwork at Wal-Mart because I do not want you to buy my tiles. There are a million places where you can put these tiles! HOW TO INSTALL THE TILES Sporck Tileart tiles come with holes that are drilled in 99.9% of all tiles. You can either hang the tile on a nail, display it on a stand, or mortar it to a wall and use it as an accent in a tile installation. These tiles can get wet, frozen, dirty, greasy, sun soaked, walked on, and anything you are worried should be a “non-issue”. DO NOT WORRY ABOUT THESE TILES.
