Its time to downsize my bell collection and this wonderful "treasure for you" comes from my smoke free home. Up for your consideration is this nice bronze bell - 1982 Annual Edition Bell titled "THE COURT JESTER" made by Gerry Ballantyne . Made by the "lost wax method" of casting, "The Court Jester " was an intended limited edition of 400 of which it is reported 302 were actually produced. This bell is signed and numbered... #263. The bell is approx. 6 inches tall and about 13 ounces in weight. Comes with the COA. Gerry Ballantyne based his bells on historical persons or literary characters and sometimes both. The Court Jester, is a historical character that was a traditional figure of English history and literature. While not known exactly when jesters first appeared, there may have been jesters in Britain during the time of the Saxons. Unique to Gerry's bells is that you can visualize the Jester as shown on the handle; in his costume, in full costume with bells on his cap, shirt and shoes performing to keep the King from focusing on the troubles of his kingdom. Around the skirt of this bell...a castle with drawbridge. All photos are of the actual bell; please view for condition. Selling worldwide email me for a shipping quote.
