Bar Kochba Revolt, 132-135 AD. . Hen-739. A remarkably choice example. AE Small Bronze (19 mm), Year 3 (undated), struck 134/135 AD. Palm tree of seven branches, two date clusters below; Hebrew inscription across field below ("Shim'on"). Reverse: Cluster of grapes; Hebrew inscription around ("Year two of the freedom of Israel"). Hendin 739; Mild. 159; AJC II, p. 276, 81a. Boldly struck, and finely centered. With pleasing dark green and reddish patina, with earthen highlights. Nearly Extremely Fine.
