Stainless Steel Version!EGW is offering our Improved HD bar stock beavertail. We identified a dozen things on the status quo grip safeties on the market and set out to make a better part. Here is what we came up with.1. Wider than the frame. Grinding the frame to match the beavertail goes against the gunsmith rule one. Always work on the cheaper part. We made the beavertail .770 wide, wider than any frame we are aware of.2. Wider between the tangs. We machined the part .308 wide to fit with little or no play side to side.3. Longer bottom, no gap between the beavertail and the main spring housing.4. Wider bottom. .618 to better fill the frame hole.5. Hole is spotted, drilled and reamed to .157 this will improve the fit and improve funtion of ambi safeties.6. Since we machine a majority of the part in the first hold, the hole is perpendicular to the part, if you have fit enough warped crookind beavertails you will really appreciate this.7. The web is lowered where your hand meets the beavertail. You do not need to grind into the safety hole on the frame to blend this beavertail. 8. .245 radius. Several frames on the market are cut to a .250 radius. We machine ours to .245 so you can still read more
