Kellogg 5 Bar Telephone MagnetoRestored and RECHARGED 100 Volts!ABOUT THIS MAGNETO:The magneto was completely disassembled. Allof the components were soaked, cleaned and polishedor painted. It was lubricated with special dielectric oil.The magnets were RECHARGED with magnetizingequipment f in order to maximum voltage output.The magneto works perfectly and turns smoothly.Voltage output was tested to over 100 volts using myvoltmeter while hand cranking as fast as possible .Voltage output depends on ability to crank,your output may be different.The voltage output depends on the strength of themagnets. Magnets lose strength with time, reducingvoltage output. As part of the restoration process,the magnets are re-magnetized with equipmentdesigned for that purpose.The following is a partial excerpt from a 1941 KelloggTelephone Catalog that I found interesting:"The secret of the Kellogg generator's extraordinary strength lies not only in its permanent magnet but in the superior design of its revolving electro-magnet or armature, upon which the wire is wound. The Kellogg armature allows for plenty of winding space and the maximum amount of iron in the core. All generator parts are protected from rust and corrosion. Magnets are given a heavy coating of special blue paint. The magnets are made of 3.5% chrome steel to insure the magnetic strength
