BARBADOS 1925 Issue. Official PERFIN. Wmk. Multiple Crown & Scrpt CA. Perforation 14. 1/2d green value,SG 236, perforated "G. P. O." by the "Stop Thief" Perforator purchased by the General Post Office, and bearing c.d.s. postmark dated 4 JL 34. The Perforator was purchased from E. M. Richford Limited of London and used by the Parcel Post to cancel stamps used by the Parcel Post for Delivery Fees [1d] and Cash on Delivery [4d]. This 1/2d Stamp has a little nick at the top right hand corner and is toned. This is the only recorded copy of this Official Perfin ever found and is extremely rare. This variety was completely unknown until the publication of the Bayley Handbook in 1989. This item is being sold with the original sheet from the E. M. Richford Catalogue and the original E. M. Richford Invoice dated 15 AUG 1934 sent to the GPO which has three (3) clear examples perforated tthereon A very interesting and unique Exhibition Piece.
