KISS IT GOOD-BYE By Shelby Whitfield Copyright 1973, Abelard-Schuman First Printing Hardcover with dust jacket. Signed by FOUR former Washington Senators on the half-title page: Frank Howard Denny McLain Ted Kubiak Richie Scheinblum Whitfield, the "Voice of the Senators", recounts the last few years of baseball in Washington, D.C. before the team's move to Arlington. Included in this history is the claim that the senators dabbled in anabolic steroids in the early 1970's, a claim denounced by former pitcher Dick Bosman. In fact, because of that claim on page 204, Bosman refused to autograph this book. Book has sharp corners, mottling to endpapers, a few very light yellow spots above the autographs on the half-title page and fading on bottom boards. The dust jacket is complete. It has a few dirt spots and tiny tears along with a store sticker pasted to the front. It also has slight indentations on jacket front from someone using the book as a writing desk. Please take a look at my other listings. I have listed several other desirable baseball books many of which are signed. All autographs were obtained in person by either my husband or myself.
