This photo album was found at a flea market in Northern California. It contains cabinet cards, cdvs and tintypes. T are fifty (50) images. Offered is everything that was found. The center piece is a cdv of GENERAL ABNER DOUBLEDAY who many have credited as being the founder of Baseball. Written on back "from photographic negative in Brady's National Portrait Gallery." It measures 2 1/4 by 3 1/4 inches. It appears to have been cut. Please note, photo glare is caused by protective coverings. The original album that contained all images is included. Photos have been taken out and placed in binder with protective pages. All photos were in this album. The album is damaged. We have not spent anyw near a suffcient amount of time researching the people named in this album to arrive at any conclusions as to how they relate to Abner Doubleday or to give the collection any semblance of historical justice. It is apparent that the album belonged to KATE or KATIE D. DOUBLEDAY. Approximately 30 of the images have writing on them. Some are names, some are short notes, a few just dates. T are at least five notes or references on back of photos to Kate or Katie including two in 1875 from her sister. "To my dear little sister Katie. Taken June 1874 age 17 yrs, 3 wks, etc...." (photo taken by L. Sherman in New York) ANOTHER, "To my dear little sister read more
