Basel. Canton gold Shooting Medal 1844 MS61 NGC, Richter-87a. 36.91gm. Fallen hero at St. Jacob an der Birs / Nine symbols surrounding patriotic poem. Struck to commemorate the Federal Shooting Festival held in Basel. Masterfully designed by Antoine Bovy and showing relatively little evidence handling this gorgeous gold striking is imbued with a pleasing freshness for the grade and subtle reflectivity within the fields.
