When you choose The Bat Doc to shave your bat, you can rest assured that it will be done correctly. All bats are shaved on a Haas TL-2 Precision CNC Automated Lathe ! This is NOT a $1500 lathe that I found on Craigslist! Not all lathes are equal, Please understand that! A CNC Lathe is the BEST way for a bat to be fixed! I program the lathe to take a specific amount out and let the computer automation do the rest! It's the ONLY way to KNOW that you have a consistent wall thickness up and down the bat, as well on any given side. Don't be fooled by companies making this claim and then using a cylinder hone and a drill or an inferior machine! It's easy to search for a picture of a bat in a lathe, use it for an Ebay auction, and claim that it's what you shave bats with! It's a good bet that if they don't have a video, they aren't using the correct equipment! You bought the BEST bat you could find, so why would you settle for anything other then the BEST on your $300+ Softball bat! Shaving your bat will easily add 40-50' worth of distance to your long ball. It will also increase the speed of your line drives through the field. Shaving the bat will slightly decrease the life of the bat, A small price to pay for the difference in performance. The only reason it shortens the life of the bat is because of the thinner wall. I also HIGHLY recomend that you do NOT swing in cold weather. (Under 50-55 degrees) New or used bats can be shaved. With purchase of this service, I will shave your bat, endload it if you wish, and send it back. Please DO NOT ship the bats in the USPS Tubes. The bats knock the ends out of the tubes and the Postal Service loses the bat. You are responsible for sending the bat to me. To protect yourself, please ship with insurance and tracking #.
