If you like this item, don't hesitate to make an offer! Offered for you consideration is an extremely scarce and very rare 1910 to 1920’s era – double side logo – 4” x 1 ½” wide by 1 ¾” tall hotel and restaurant china logo toothpick holder made by the Bauscher China Co. Vintage hotel china toothpick holders such as this are very scarce and seldom seen or offered. This particular piece features the hotel’s griffin / mythical bird logo on each side with a shield in the center and a crown over its head. I do not know what hotel or restaurant used this logo, but whoever it was, had very good take in using this logo on their restaurant ware. his holder would have been used in the lounge, restaurant, dining room, or even for room service at a hotel or restaurant to offer guest an after dinner toothpick. Additionally, it would have saw service in connection with the restaurant china and glassware for table service. The platter is the heavyweight type Steamship, Restaurant, and Railroad silverplate. It was made by the Bauscher China Co. in Weiden, Germany. It has the oval BW – Bauscher Widen (Germany) backstamp. Bauscher also had an operation in New York City as well. It has no cracks, no chips, and is in near mint condition with hardly any usage. A wonderful addition to your Home Furnishing / Home Decorating, Pre-Prohibition, or Historical read more
