I have been commissioned to sell the collection of Herbert Wilczak, the author of "Who Made That Pipe", a directory of Briar Pipe Names , their makers/sellers and countries of origin in the 19th and 20th century. Mr. Wilczak had a large, personal collection of the very finest of Briar pipes. He preferred seasoned pipes. The pipes I am selling, for the most part, are in excellent condition, with a new appearance. I smell a hint of tobacco and assume that most have been enjoyed. These pipes have been cared for impeccably and the mouth pieces are clean. They should make a fine addition to any collection. I am new to the pipe market and am continuing to learn....so feel free to ask any questions and I will do my very best to answer you. THIS AUCTION TO INCLUDE: Ref. # i (IF YOU WIN THIS AUCTION FOR A CHRISTMAS PRESENT, I HAVE VERY FAST SHIPPING, HOWEVER, IF YOU ARE IN AN AREA W THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE, I WILL BE WILLING TO SEND YOU MORE PHOTO'S THAT YOU CAN WRAP UP TO PRESENT YOUR GIFT ON TIME) I have a Briar Pipe marked "BBB Thorneycroft London, England #183. This pipe is approx. 5 inches long. The bowl is approx. 2 by 1 1/4. The plastic part of the stem has 3 B's in a silver diamond shape. The inside is plastic. This is a very attractive pipe that has been smoked but looks like new with the very tiniest hint of teeth marks. See picture.
