Beach Haven, NEW JERSEY - ARTIST SIGNED: Jas F. Murray - "Lucy Evelyn": On Memorial Day weekend 1949, the Lucy Even, an old schooner, was opened as a shop. For 22 years it served not only as a purveyor of gifts but stood as a memorial to all the ships lost over the centuries on Long Beach Island, New Jersey. The card presents a rendering of the ship by Jas F. Murray and the card's reverse informs: "The schooner Lucy Evelyn, Beach Haven, N. J.: 140' long, 32' beam, 10' draft. The home of the Sea Chest Gift and Sport Shops. Built 1917 in Harrington, Maine. Beached and preserved 1949 Beach Haven, N. J." In 1972, the ship burned. The card is in good condition, but shows some edge wear. Published at Sea Crest, Beach haven, NJ. No. 16.
